Display specialist AOC will launch a tablet PC for cash-strapped consumers, which runs on Android 2.1.
The price will cost “well below €200” for the 8-inch tablet. It will run on an earlier version of Android, as opposed to Google’s tablet Android OS Honeycomb, and will weigh 480g.
It offers an 800 x 600 pixel resolution, a 600MHz processor and 4GB of internal flash memory. The tablet also has a Micro SD slot to extend its memory.
The tablet has USB connectivity, allowing keyboards, memory sticks, cameras and other peripherals to be connected to it if need be. It also has integrated speakers and a port for headphones
Network access is carried out via WLAN (802.11b/g).
The tablet will be shown at a conference in Hanover between 1-5 March.
