Apple planning a retail store for Dublin?

Apple is reportedly on the hunt for a premises in Dublin for one of its iconic Apple Retail Stores.

According to a report in yesterday’s Sunday Tribune newspaper, the computer and media devices giant has appointed property advisors Jones Lang LaSalle to find a suitable premises.

According to the report, the shop will be run by Apple’s UK licensee and will be about 6,000 sq ft on two levels.

The premises that Apple has expressed an interest include the former Habitat shop on Suffolk Street and the former Dunnes Stores on Grafton Street.

Apple is understood to be among a number of leading brands, including Abercrombie & Fitch, Gap, Puma and Tous, which are looking at taking advantage of falling rental prices in Dublin to open new stores.
