Apple plans another product launch for 21 October

Just after launching the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, Apple Pay and the Apple Watch, Apple is understood to be hosting another big product reveal on 21 October. This time it could include the rumoured 12.9-inch iPad.

At the event Apple is expected to reveal the latest generation of its iPad family, including a 12-9-inch iPad Plus as well as the iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina Display.

Rival Samsung already manufactures a Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2-inch device, while Microsoft’s latest hybrid device, the Surface Pro 3, measures 12 inches.

According to the Daily Dot Apple will uneil two new iPads as well as Apple’s next generation operating system Mac OS X Yosemite.

Bigger Apple

In recent weeks Apple revealed a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and a 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus.

The company also launched into the emerging mobile wallet space with its own proprietary Apple Pay NFC service.

The company also revealed the much anticipated Apple Watch.

The new iPhone devices, which went on sale in the US last Friday, were snapped up by eager fans and some 4m were bought within the first 24 hours.

Apple’s newest mobile operating system iOS 8 has gone live today and will be available in Europe from around 6pm GMT.
