Apple updates processors and cuts MacBook prices

Apple has updated its 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina notebooks with faster 2.6GHz and 2.7GHz processors respectively.

Apple said today the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display now starts at €1,549, including VAT, for 128GB of Flash, and €1,749, including VAT, for a 13-inch version with a new 2.6GHz processor and 256GB of Flash.

The company also revealed a new 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina will soon be available with options of either a faster 2.4GHz quad-core processor and or 2.7GHz of memory.

In terms of pricing, the new updated 15-inch machines weren’t on Apple’s Irish e-commerce site at the time of writing but on the US site they started at US$2,199 and US$2,799 respectively.

Apple also announced a new 13-inch MacBook Air with 256GB of Flash for a lower price of €1,449, including VAT.
