Irish online classified ads website DoneDeal.ie has hit the 1 million unique visitors a month mark, it announced today.

The site now has an average of 40,000 new items advertised each month, with 80,000 adverts currently active, according to an independent audit by website metrics company IrelandMetrix.

The cash amount for items sold on the website in February alone came to a total of more than €30m, DoneDeal.ie said.

“We are delighted to have reached over 1 million unique visitors per month. It is such a huge milestone for us, given that we started the company from our own home in 2005,” said Geraldine Karlsson, director, DoneDeal.ie.

“Interest and use of the site has been phenomenal since Day 1 and we have been delighted with the customer feedback to date.

“The current economic climate very much suits the brand as people seek an easy and safe channel to trade their second-hand items and get the best value for their money,” she added.
