Download success for TomTom’s Voice of Ireland

Irish lass Naoimh Touhy has become something of a TomTom sensation after winning the recent competition to become the new Voice of Ireland for the sat nav device.

With 11,500 downloads so far this year Naoimh’s honeyed tones inspired the judges, which included Ray D’arcy, to describe her voice as sounding like “Irish cream”.

Beating the 1,000-plus competitors to become the Voice of Ireland Naoimh is one of many voices that can be downloaded for TomTom, others being Darth Vader, Homer Simpson, Billy Connolly and R2D2.

“‘I can’t believe it, it is absolutely fantastic. I guess the elocution lessons paid off in the end!” said Touhy.
