Those wanting a piece of royal history have until 24 July to bid on the Duchess of Cambridge’s former car, a 2001 blue VW Golf, which is up for sale on eBay.
The car, which both the then-Kate Middleton and Prince William have driven, had a starting bid of £20,000 (€22,782). At time of writing, the car had received seven bids, which jacked the price up to £25,100 (€28,603).
The three-door, manual-transmission car comes with a 1,390 cc engine and has accumulated 62,000 miles. Middleton had registered the vehicle on 27 November 2001, shortly after she met Prince William.
Sonny Brazil is the car’s current owner, and he lives near the Middleton family home in Bucklebury, England. He had purchased the car from the family in April 2009 for about £1,426 (€1,625).
“I do believe this will be the best piece of Royal History anyone could have,” Brazil wrote in the eBay listing.
Kate wasn’t the only Middleton to own the car, however – after she was done with it, her brother, James, took ownership of the car.
