Eircom launches iPhone 4 on eMobile and Meteor networks

Apple’s iPhone 4 smartphone will now be available in black and white via Eircom’s two mobile subsidiaries, Meteor and eMobile. Both networks will be offering the device for free, with monthly price plans ranging from €40 to up to €84 per month.

eMobile

eMobile has developed specific iPhone plans which give customers free iPhones. The iPhone 4 is available to eMobile customers in 16GB and 32GB, as well the iPhone 3GS 8GB.

For €69 a month, Eircom customers (€79 for non-Eircom customers) will get a free iPhone 4 and can make unlimited calls and texts to any network, as well as receive unlimited data, subject to fair usage policies.

“The addition of the iPhone 4 to our extensive smartphone range is a great bonus for our customers and we’re delighted to offer the iPhone 4 for free on our Select Smart 300 and our Select Smart Unlimited plans,” said Carolan Lennon, chief commercial officer, Eircom.

“The iPhone 4 has some really amazing features and already we’ve had huge customer interest in the phone,” she said.

Meteor

Meteor has revealed it has the iPhone iPhone 4 16GB and 32GB iPhones available in both black and white, as well as the iPhone 3GS with price plans starting at €40.

“The introduction of the iPhone 4 and 3GS means that customers now have even more choice and value with Meteor,” Kealan Donoghue head of devices and product operations at Meteor, said.

“We have already had more than 10,000 people pre-register for the iPhone on meteor.ie, so we are really delighted to be able to offer this fantastic handset to our customers and better still, they can get an iPhone for free.” 

He added: “With the surge in smartphone popularity and data consumption, customers are demanding more from their mobiles and are constantly using their mobile to update their status on Facebook, tweet and stay in touch with their family and friends on the go.
