HTC ChaCha to get June release for all mobile networks

28 Apr 2011

The HTC ChaCha, the first of HTC’s phones to include a dedicated Facebook button, will get a release the last week of June for all mobile networks.

The HTC ChaCha will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It will offer a QWERTY phone and a 2.6-inch 480×320 resolution display.

The smartphone will have a context aware Facebook button to provide one-touch access to status updates, photo uploads, website sharing or checking into a location. The button will light up when it has an opportunity to share content or updates through Facebook.

HTC Sense will integrate Facebook into its UI to let users check friends’ latest status updates on the dialler screen. Facebook messages will also be integrated into the text and email inboxes.

The phone will include HD playback and video chat capabilities and will also have a VGA front-facing camera and a 5-megapixel camera at the back.

While the ChaCha will be available at the end of June on all networks, the Salsa, HTC’s other phone with a Facebook button, will see its release during the third quarter of 2011.
