HTCSense.com released for newer handsets

7 Oct 2010

HTC has launched HTCSense.com, a security-based cloud service. It can currently only be used for the Desire HD and the Desire Z.

So far, the only models that can be used on the service is anyone who has early access to the Desire HD and the Desire Z.

Sense includes a “locate” feature, which triggers the user’s handset to ring loudly while flagging its location on an online map if the phone is lost or stolen.

Owners can customise their handsets from the service, back up content and buy apps than can be pushed to their phones.

The service lets HTC handset owners synchronise contacts with a cloud-based address book and back up text messages.

Owners can also access a checking-in service for location-based notes and can remotely lock the device or wipe the phone if necessary.
