Despite changes in its terms of use that had resulted in many users closing their accounts, photo-sharing app Instagram has said it is seeing growth, reporting more than 90m people use the service on a monthly basis.
That number is up 10pc, month on month, in the period from December to January, AllThingsD reported.
Instagram also revealed 40m photos are posted to its site daily and users are ‘liking’ 8,500 photos per second, and posting 1,000 comments per second.
Last month, Instagram acted quickly in response to the negative reaction to changes in its terms of use, which suggested ownership of users’ content and even suggested use of their content for advertising purposes.
In particular, Instagram, which is owned by social networking giant Facebook, has been reversing its ad rules back to the original version launched in 2010.
