iOS 7 now on 85pc of all Apple devices

25 Mar 2014

Apple’s iOS 7 is the operating system on 85pc of the consumer tech giant’s devices, recent figures suggest.

The figures have come straight from the horse’s mouth as Apple made the findings on its App Store statistic page.

Released in September 2013, the software has been increasing in usage considerably each month with the percentage of users with the operating system rising from 74pc in the beginning of December last year, to 78pc by the end of the month.

Unsurprisingly, iOS 6 makes up the majority of the remainder with 12pc still using the older operating system.

This can be accounted to older devices like the fourth-generation iPod touch which has ceased updating as far as iOS 6.1.6.

iOS 7.1, released earlier this month, has accounted for 52pc of iOS web share, according to the International Business Times.
