Is Microsoft planning Lumia, Xbox, Surface Pro 4 and Band 2 launch?

21 Aug 2015

Reports are emerging that Microsoft is planning a “massive” launch event for some of its hardware in October, with three devices in particular rumoured to be included.

Chinese website WPDang recently claimed a new Xbox One could feature, with The Verge suggesting otherwise, claiming knowledge of a new Surface Pro 4 and Microsoft Band 2 launching at the event.

Other devices that could feature include the latest line of Lumia phones, with a rare high-end variant suggested.

A couple of surprises are planned, too, but it all makes for an exciting few weeks of tech launches.

Buzzfeed recently claimed Apple would be holding its own event in early September, which could show off the iPhone 6S, as well as a range of new iPads.

Leaks for the iPhone 6S emerged last month, with not much difference from its predecessor in terms of appearance.

Google, meanwhile, is bringing out its new Nexus phones as the smart-tech industry gears up for a fine end to the year.
