30 Jul 2012

In just four days, Mountain Lion has become Apple’s “most successful OS X release” in its history, having been downloaded more than 3m times since its release on Wednesday.

“Just a year after the incredibly successful introduction of Lion, customers have downloaded Mountain Lion more than 3m times in just four days, making it our most successful release ever,” Apple said in a statement.

Apple launched its latest operating system, called Mountain Lion, as an upgrade for users of Lion or Snow Leopard for €15.99 from the Mac App Store.

Mountain Lion comes with more than 200 features, such as iCloud integration, a Messages App, Notification Center, dictation, AirPlay mirroring and Game Center. Facebook integration will be available in an upcoming software update to Mountain Lion.
