Netflix arrives on Sony Entertainment Network

Netflix has arrived on the Sony Entertainment Network today, bringing the TV and movie-streaming service to internet-connected Sony devices.

Netflix will join other media services on the Sony Entertainment Network, including YouTube and BBC News. It will be available for all 2012 home entertainment devices featuring the Sony Entertainment Network.

The Sony Entertainment Network is Sony’s media content service, which can be accessed through Sony BRAVIA televisions, Sony blu-ray players and PS3 consoles.

Netflix launched in the UK and Ireland in January this year for numerous devices, including iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, games consoles, PCs, Macs and internet-connected TVs. It offers content at a monthly price of €6.99 in Ireland and stg£5.99 in the UK.

The service says it has increased the number of its subscribers by 3m in the first quarter of 2012, bringing its total user base to 26m worldwide.
