The latest iPad isn’t even out yet, but it looks as if it may already be having an effect on the corporate tablet market, a ChangeWave Research survey suggests. The percentage of companies reporting they will buy Apple iPads for their employees in Q2 2012 has jumped to the highest level of corporate iPad demand ever seen in the survey.
A total of 84pc of companies planning to buy tablets next quarter now say they’ll purchase iPads – a 7-pt leap since the previous survey.
The ChangeWave Research survey of 1,604 business IT buyers also revealed that 22pc of companies will be buying tablet computers for their employees during Q2 2012.
The release of the new iPad (available in Ireland on 23 March) is also having an impact on business purchases of tablets from other manufacturers.
The survey shows an across-the-board decline in the next quarter in the purchase of tablets from other manufacturers.

Among the competitors, Samsung (8pc) is down 2-pts and continues to remain a distant second in company plans for buying a tablet.
Other tablet manufacturers showing a decline in corporate tablet share since the previous survey include HP (4pc; down 1-pt), Asus (3pc; down 1-pt), Dell (3pc; down 2-pts), and RIM/BlackBerry (3pc; down 2-pts).
