New Natal game details leaked

US film director James Gunn has inadvertently broken Microsoft’s silence on the kind of games we can expect for Natal when it goes on sale this autumn: on his official blog he talked about his visit to Microsoft and his time spent playing River Rush for Natal.

River Rush, says Gunn, is a casual game where the player is riding a raft and controls the movements by stepping left or right and earns bonus points by jumping in the air to slap stars as you ride the rapids.

“In fact, I’d say the ONLY drawback to the Natal some people may have is that you have to get up off your ass to play it,” he said.

“But, for me, a person who likes exercise and gaming, it’s sort of a dream come true. An hour of playing Natal every night will definitely burn calories.”

Gunn also noted in a tongue-in-cheek manner that he made Natal history by having his Avatar inappropriately make contact with his friend’s avatar, adding that he wanted this noted on Wikipedia, which has already been done.

Several games have already been announced for Natal

Other games that have been confirmed for release for Natal this year, either directly or through Natal demos, include:

  • Meet Milo
  • Paint Party
  • Ricochet
  • Alan Wake
  • Burnout Paradise
  • Fable III

More games are set to be announced at this year’s E3 in June and we can expect titles from developers including Activision Blizzard, CAPCOM, Disney Interactive, Electronic Arts, MTV Games, Ubisoft, THQ and Sega.
