Smartphone maker Nokia may be revealing its line-up of Windows Phone 8 devices at a press event on 5 September in New York City.

The Verge reported it has received an invitation to the joint Nokia-Microsoft press conference, and judging from the look of the invitation itself – which features tiles like those on Windows Phone 8 handsets – the event may well have to do with Windows Phone 8.

PC World and The Verge suggest the actual handset that may be revealed: the new Nokia Lumia smartphone, which runs on Windows Phone 8 software.

The purported launch is being held a week before Apple is expected to reveal its new, next-generation iPhone.
