November launch for next Apple iPhone?

17 May 2011

Unconfirmed reports suggest a date has been leaked for the iPhone 5, or the iPhone 4S, as analysts have suggested. If they are to be believed Apple does not plan to launch its next smartphone until late November.

According to a report on UK tech site TechRadar an anonymous representative of Phones4You has let it slip that 21 November will be the launch date.

Apple has typically unveiled its latest iPhone device in the midsummer timeframe.

However recent reports have suggested that manufacturers do not expect to start manufacturing the device until July, suggesting a September launch at the earliest.

Many reasons have been given for the delay in Apple following up with a successor to the iPhone 4 from issues surrounding the production of the white iPhone 4 to the fact that iPhone 4 devices are still selling very well.

An analyst last weekend suggested that the next iPhone device will not include LTE technology due to the shortage of LTE chipsets from Qualcomm.

Instead the next iPhone device from Apple will feature a better display and A5 dualcore processor and will be known as the iPhone 4S.

Only Apple truly knows, but no doubt the rumour mill continues to be in overdrive
