Unveiling details of its Christmas push, O2 has said its Irish operations will focus strongly on two of its new MMS headsets, including an 85 gram clamshell handset and the new version of its XDA pocket PC/phone.

The silver clamshell X1 phone will cost between €109 (postpay) and €199 (prepay) and is intended primarily for the Christmas gift market. The X1 (pictured) includes an integrated camera that can store 100 high resolution images and 10 Java games. The phone also features 40 ringtones and two preinstalled Java games.

Aimed at businesses and consumers, the long-awaited MMS-enabled XDA II will be available from the end of this month and comes with a recommended retail price of €499.

The new XDA is in effect a phone, a digital video camera, a pocket PC, a personal organiser, MP3 player, radio and mobile games console rolled into one. It also features mobile internet connectivity and the ability to host corporate applications.
