Samsung has managed to sell 1 million Galaxy Tab computers, just two weeks after it said it sold 600,000 units.
The tablet computer was launched two months ago, aiming to take on the iPad.
The sales boost was attributed to the consumer demand for the Christmas season. There was no breakdown of sales for the Galaxy Tab anywhere else apart from Korea, where it sold more than 100,000 units.
Samsung previously predicted it would sell 1 million by the end of 2010 and has now predicted it will sell 1.5 million Galaxy Tabs by the end of the year.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab was launched in Ireland last month on all the major mobile operators.
The 7-inch tablet runs on Android 2.2 (Froyo) and offers a front and back camera.
