Samsung goes the extra mile with new Gear Fit

Following last night’s launch of the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo smart watches at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Samsung had an extra surprise up its sleeve – the new slimline Gear Fit smart watch.

The curved device comes with a vivid Super AMOLED display and keeps you up to date with instant notifications from Galaxy smartphones, including incoming calls, emails, SMS, alarm, S-planner, and third-party apps.

The device, which has a 1.84-inch Curved Super AMOLED (432 x 128) display, is also IP67 dust and water resistant.

It also comes with a changeable strap but no camera, unlike its bigger Gear 2 siblings.

“We’re excited to be expanding our Gear product portfolio with a range of unique devices so there is something for everyone, irrespective of their different lifestyles, interests and needs,” said Simon Stanford, vice-president of IT & Mobile division, Samsung Electronics UK and Ireland.

“The new range includes the Gear Fit, which we’ve designed specifically to help those of our customers that want to live a more fit and active life but don’t want to sacrifice their own personal style or ability to stay connected on the go.”
