JK Shin, head of Samsung Mobile Communications, has said the rumours are indeed true and the South Korean manufacturer is in fact preparing to launch a 4-inch Galaxy S III on 11 October.

The Korean press reported the confirmation, which has been picked up by The Verge.

Shin assured this won’t be an entry-level device, but a mini S III. The new handset will apparently feature all that comes with the current Galaxy S III, squeezed into a 4-inch display model.

As previously revealed, the device will launch in Germany on 11 October.
