Sky also revealed the number of downloads of Sky apps in Ireland, including the Sky Go app, which attracted 435,620 downloads. The Sky News app attracted 394,673 downloads, followed by the Sky Sports News app, which attracted 326,891 downloads, and the Sky+ app, which attracted 326,891 downloads.

There are now up to 57 different channels available on Sky Go, with 40 entertainment channels sitting alongside six Sky Sports channels and 11 Sky Movies channels.

“Sky Go has gone from strength to strength since it launched in July 2011 and now attracts over 3m unique users quarterly,” said Mark Anderson, Sky Ireland sales and marketing director.

“The addition of these new channels is part of our continued commitment to provide our customers with a great TV experience whenever and wherever they want it, all at no extra cost.

“Customers now have even more choice and flexibility whether they want to watch TV Box Sets, live Barclays Premier League football, the latest blockbusters from Sky Movies or awarding-winning drama from a wider range of entertainment channels,” Anderson said.
