Social media users react to iPhone 5 announcement

Apple’s announcement of its new iPhone 5 smartphone has made news all across the web, and consumers have responded with comments, images and memes they are sharing on social networks, such as Twitter.

Apple revealed the iPhone 5, which includes a 4-inch Retina display and A6 processor, after weeks of rumours about the new device, at a press event in London and San Francisco yesterday.

The consumer tech giant also unveiled improvements to its iPod range, with major upgrades for the iPod touch, iPod Nano and a refresh for the iPod Shuffle. Even iTunes is getting a facelift.

The new iPods and the iPhone 5 haven’t even hit the shops yet, but responses to the iPhone 5 announcement hit the internet as soon as details about the handset were made public.
