Sony has just announced that its 3D Bravia TV and Blu-ray players will launch in Ireland this June with a package of products, services and free content.
With pre-orders available soon, the launch model will be the Bravia HX803, which will come with 3D accessories and Sony says this Bravia will be followed within weeks by additional 3D models.
The Sony 3D TV series will have 200Hz high frame rate technology for full high-definition 1080p1 fidelity 3D viewing and will include three new technologies – High Speed Precision2, LED Boost3 and 3D up conversion4 – to make the 3D image as clear and bright as possible.
At launch, some of Sony’s 3D products will be bundled with the Blu-ray 3D titles Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and Deep Sea, plus these will be sold separately at participating retailers from 14 June.
There will also be 3D stereoscopic games titles free to those buying Bravia 3D TVs: this promotional 3D stereoscopic games collection includes Wipeout HD, Motorstorm Pacific Rift and PAIN, plus family game Super Stardust HD.
PS3 owners will be able to upgrade their PS3s to be 3D game compatible with a firmware upgrade prior to the Sony 3D TVs going on sale and a further firmware upgrade will make the PS3 3D BD movie compatible some time in 2010.
