Sony Ericsson introduces Xperia X8

28 Jun 2010

Following on from the success of the Xperia X10 Sony Ericsson is to launch a second Android-powered smartphone in the form of the X8.

The Xperia X8 handset will be smaller and less expensive than the X10 but will be running on the latest version of the Android operating system – FroYo.

Falling somewhere in between the flagship X10 and its little brothers X10 mini and mini pro, the X8 has a 600 MHz processor and supports MicroSD storage of up to 16GB.

With a 3-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi, A-GPS and 3.2-megapixel camera the X8 is a solid but compact Android smartphone that comes loaded with all the Google services including Google Maps with Street View and Google Talk (for those countries within which this service is available).

The X8 will most likely arrive in Europe first followed by the US. And have a price point under €200.
