Sony Ericsson has launched a new pair of compact Xperia smartphones, the Xperia Mini and the Xperia Mini Pro.
The Xperia Mini will run Google’s Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system, and thus contains access to the Android Market. It features a 3-inch, multitouch and scratch-resistant screen and a 1GHz processor. Users can customise the home screen with custom shortcuts in the screen’s corners.
The Xperia Mini also boasts 30pc more battery power and 720p HD video recording capability.
The phone will be available in four colours this August.
The new Xperia Mini Pro also comes with a 1GHz processor and the same battery life improvements, but it includes a QWERTY keyboard.
The new Xperia Mini Pro will be available in this year’s third quarter.
