Swedish mobile phone manufacturer Doro – which specialises in making user-friendly mobile devices for the elderly – has signed a mass market retail deal with Tesco Mobile, which will carry the Doro PhoneEasy 409s.

The Doro PhoneEasy 409s is designed to be an easy-to-use mobile that features large buttons, a clear display, loud volume and amplified sounds and takes the shape of a black and white clamshell.

The phone contains reminder, wake-up alarm, calculator and integral alert functions – these features make it an ideal choice for the consumer who simply wants a phone to be a phone.

Most functions can be turned off to make it even easier and specific to the needs of the user.

“This handset suits customers who want a simple and easy-to-use phone at great value for money,” Noel Burrows, managing director of Tesco Mobile Ireland, explained.

The Doro PhoneEasy 409s is priced at €79.99 and available now at Tesco stores.

“Working with Tesco in the UK, and now Ireland, offers further proof of our market-leading position within the European senior and easy-to-use mobile space,” Chris Millington, MD of Doro Ireland, said.

“Tesco Mobile’s price plans and customer billing system are straight forward and easy to understand – so there is a clear fit,” Millington added.
