LG Electronics to introduce Cinema Screen Design to reduce TV bezel to 1mm
LG Electronics will show off its Cinema Screen Design at this year’s Consumer Electronics show, which will reduce the bezel of its TVs to 1mm.
The design will feature on its range of 3D Smart TVs for 2012 and aims to create a more optimal environment for 3D viewing and to resemble movie screens at cinemas.
The design also features new Cinema 3D glasses, which are 20pc lighter than previous models.
LG Electronics will also unveil its first Google TV at CES 2012.
Acer to launch ‘world’s thinnest ultrabook’
Acer has revealed the Aspire S5, claiming it’s the world’s thinnest ultrabook, which is just 15mm at its thickest point.
Weighing less than 1.35kg, it features a 13.3-inch LCD display, SSD memory and an Intel Core processor.
It includes Acer Green Instant On for fast booting and resuming and Acer Always Connect, which lets users manage their multimedia and data on their device, even from sleep mode.
It also includes HDMI, USB 3.0 and 20 Gps Thunderbolt ports, hidden under a panel which can be opened through the ‘MagicFlip’ key.
The Aspire S5 will begin shipping globally from the second quarter of 2012.
Lenovo reveals first Ice Cream Sandwich TV
Lenovo has unveiled a new 55-inch television which runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It includes custom-built apps, VoD services and access to the Android Market.
The Verge reports that the Lenovo K91, shown at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, also features a 1.5GHz dual core processor.
The television includes 3D FPR technology, offering a full HD IPS panel with 240Hz refresh.
It can be controlled with a remote control with a touchpad, d-pad and motion sensor. The TV can also be operated with the user’s voice and even facial recognition with its 5-megapixel camera.
Currently, no release date or price has been announced for this Android 4.0 TV.
