Starting today, Irish iPhone users can buy the accompanying car kit for TomTom’s official iPhone app from both TomTom and the Apple Store online.

The TomTom car kit retails at €99.99 and is designed to dock your iPhone and mount it securely on the car windscreen or dashboard with a twist-and-lock feature while the adjustable mount means you can rotate your iPhone to landscape or portrait mode.

It also has a built-in loudspeaker and microphone so you can give voice instructions to the TomTom app and hear all directions loud and clear with the ability to make and receive hands-free phone calls.

iPhone TomTom car kit features

The best feature of the iPhone TomTom car kit is the enhanced GPS performance: it has a built-in GPS receiver that lessens signal drop in areas with spotty GPS reception while claiming to significantly improve positioning accuracy overall.

Other cool features include the ability to charge your iPhone while it is docked and the fact it plays your iTunes library through the car stereo using the AUX out port.

The TomTom car kit does not include the TomTom iPhone app, which retails separately at €99.99, so if you want the entire kit including the app, it will cost €199.98 in total.
