What’s the most trending topic on Twitter this morning? RIP Mick Jagger. That’s right, a Twitter hoaxer seems to have declared the rocker dead when in fact he’s actually very much alive.

The Rolling Stones’ frontman, who performed at the Grammy Awards on Sunday and only revamped his website yesterday, has become the subject of frenzied tweeting this morning over his alleged untimely demise.

But in true Twitter fashion, it seems rumours of the rocker’s demise have been greatly exaggerated.

No sympathy for the ‘oul devil

Also in true Twitter fashion, the quips are coming in fast and furious.

Some true fans tweeted their astonishment, while elsewhere the tweeting turned to humour. As one tweeter put it: “Is Mick Jagger dead? No, no, no. He’s not dead. He just looks like he is.”

Or as another quipped: “Hey I just saw that RIP Mick Jagger is trending no doubt some sad arse ‘bleiber’ started it out of spite towards a truly talented MAN.”
