WikiLeaks founder lands book deal

8 Jan 2011

Julian Assange, the founder of the whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks, has signed a book deal to reveal his life story.

Canongate Books, based in Edinburgh, said it has acquired world rights – apart from North America – to Assange’s story, in which he will discuss his own philosophies. Alfred A. Knopf will publish the book in North America.

The book will be published in the UK in April.

Assange, who is on bail facing extradition to Sweden on charges of sexual assault, came under the spotlight recently as a result of US cables published on WikiLeaks.
