‘You’ve got the love’ – Google spreads the #ProudToLove vibe via YouTube

28 Jun 2013

#ProudToLove – Google is spreading the love vibe for every community on YouTube in honour of Pride Week today. Tune into the Google homepage and you can click through to a YouTube video featuring everyday citizens, as well as talk-show host and comedian Ellen Degeneres. The idea of the video is to embrace every community on the planet, irrespective of sexual orientation.

The video, which was published last night on YouTubeUK, features the hashtag #ProudToLove. Along with the video, the search giant says it strives to make YouTube a place where all communities can feel “proud to express themselves”.

Same Love from Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and featuring Mary Lambert is the soundtrack accompanying the video. It is part of Google’s new Proud to Love YouTube channel. The channel features such viral videos as ‘Why Are All The Hot Guys Gay?‘ and ‘SuperKiss‘.

“At YouTube, we believe that everyone has the right to love and be loved … We strive to make YouTube a place where all communities can feel proud to express themselves and connect through video.

“That’s why we’re proud to stand with the LGBT community and support equal rights and marriage equality for all … ” explains Google.

Earlier this week, Siliconrepublic.com wrote about a new Easter Egg on Google’s search results pages. It transforms the search box into a montage of colour when users search for information on Pride Week and related terms.
