Belfast beats competition to land 200 software jobs

23 Oct 2003

Enterprise software and professional services company ASG is to create 200 new software development jobs in Belfast.

ASG is a privately-held global enterprise software and professional services firm that provides a full range of software management solutions in the areas of security, applications, operations, information, performance and infrastructure – including business re-engineering, systems integration, and systems development. ASG has 900 employees, $175m in revenues, 7,000 customer sites, and 18,000 software licenses worldwide.

The company said it plans to hire around 70 staff annually over the next three years and hasn’t ruled out additional job creation through including support staff as the operation evolves.

The software developers in Belfast will focus on ASG’s infrastructure business, involving business service management, legacy applications and business process automation, with projects ranging from PCs to Unix systems and mainframes.

It is understood that Belfast competed with operations in China, India, Brazil and South Africa for the project.
