Young resigns from Conduit

Liam Young has stepped down as CEO of directory services company, Conduit, citing personal reasons for his departure. He will remain a shareholder of the company.

Eddie Kerr will take over the chief executive role in addition to his position as chairman.

Kerr and Young were part of the management team that engineered a €55.4m buyout earlier this year, taking the company private. Conduit had been listed on the Irish Stock Exchange.

Conduit, which offers the alternative 11850 directory enquiries number, has expanded internationally in recent months, entering the Spanish directory enquiries market in June and launching a UK service – 118888 – in March. It also has operations in Austria and Switzerland.

Earlier this month, Conduit slashed 250 temporary jobs in the UK, most of them in its Cardiff call centre, after demand for its directory enquiry service failed to materialise.
