100 jobs at new Ballymaguire Foods plant in Lusk

17 Aug 2015

Dublin’s Lusk region is landing 100 new jobs on the back of a new 70,000sq ft facility created for Ballymaguire Foods’ growing UK business.

Already employing 150 people on site, the new roles will bring more science jobs to Dublin, with graduate positions in sales and marketing as well as food scientists and technicians, R&D, chefs, cooks and general operatives.

The staff are needed as the company seeks to grow its capabilities towards providing more than 500,000 meals per week, with the company currently producing 150,000.

“This will mainly be used to fuel the opportunities we see in the UK and add to our existing business there,” said MD Ed Spelman.

“We managed to buck the trend during the recession, as we used it to find new opportunities and successfully grow.

“We are now backing ourselves with this new investment which will help us continue to improve and innovate new food products,” he said.

Ballymaguire Foods, a Country Crest Company, is the largest chilled ready meals producer in the Republic of Ireland.
