SQS Software Quality Systems is tripling the size of its software testing facility in Belfast, which will result in the creation of 37 new jobs.
The expansion of SQS is due to an increased demand of outsourced testing services from a ‘near-shore’ site.
The company will introduce 37 new positions to the facility that offers a range of services, including security testing, environment hosting, test automation and performance testing for its Irish, UK, US and European customers. It will also provide specialised expertise in banking, insurance and telecommunications.
“We’ve seen a strong growth in demand for outsourcing testing services to Belfast,” said Rob McConnell, SQS regional director for Northern Ireland.
“In addition to cost savings, near-shoring customers benefit from highly technical resources, close proximity for site visits, a common language and time zone, full cultural alignment and common communication channels.”
SQS has 250 clients throughout Europe, including Deutsche Bank, ABB and Specsavers. It has numerous Belfast clients in the global insurance, utilities and automotive sectors.
Partial funding has been provided by Invest Northern Ireland to support the new expansion.
