Irish data science company Boxever is to create 100 new jobs for data scientists and software engineers in Dublin after raising $12m in venture capital from Polaris Partners and Frontline Ventures, as well as debt funding from Silicon Valley Bank.

This brings the total investment in Boxever to $22m. It is one of the first major jobs announcements this year for the local tech industry in Ireland.

Boxever’s Customer Intelligence Cloud is used by airlines and travel companies, such as Emirates, Air New Zealand and eDreams Odigeo.

The Customer Intelligence Cloud enables marketers to build a profile of every customer and apply predictive analytics and machine learning to allow for targeted marketing.

Boxever is boxing clever for the airline business

Boxever has achieved 450pc compound revenue growth in two years by adding global travel brands to its customer base, including Cebu Pacific, Alitalia, AeroMexico, Brussels Airlines and Aer Lingus.

“We continue to experience strong demand from airlines and travel companies that see the immense opportunity to transform the way they understand and engage with customers,” said Dave O’Flanagan, CEO and co-founder of Boxever.

“Today’s travellers crave personalised, highly-relevant experiences, from the minute they start searching for a trip to after they reach their destination. The market potential to help the travel industry make this experience a reality is substantial, and our investors are enabling us to lead the way.”

The investment will be used to expand Boxever’s sales and customer support efforts globally as well as hiring in product and engineering.
