One of North America’s largest value-added IT solutions providers, Pivot Acquisition Corp, has announced it will open a shared services centre in Galway. Pivot Shared Services will build a highly skilled team, creating 25 jobs in 2011 and up to 75 additional jobs in 2012.
“Pivot AC was founded with the idea that Stakeholder value is maximised when the right focus, strategy and people are brought together to create and execute transformational strategies,” says Pivot chief integration and operations officer, Ted Glahn.
“Our Galway-based shared services team, in collaboration with our North American operating companies, will become a centre of excellence providing world-class operations support and technology solution development.”
The Pivot Shared Services centre
The new centre of excellence represents a solid foundation for growth on a global level, and will add a critical element that enables both organic and acquisition-based growth, particularly the expansion of solutions in computing areas such as cloud, virtualisation and mobile computing. The Shared Services Centre will provide integral support for the company’s operating companies whose clients include some of the most respected North American businesses.
The centre creates integral value through collaboration and growth, by supporting the business, technology and vision of Pivot’s North American companies and partners. Galway-based director Cory Reid is committed to creating a culture of teamwork, tempered by a shared commitment to innovation and growth in an expanding global organisation.
Welcoming the announcement, IDA Ireland CEO Barry O’Leary said: “IDA is very pleased that Pivot has chosen Ireland as the location for its new shared services centre, which will create high-quality job opportunities across a range of functions. The investment endorses Ireland’s international reputation as a leading location for global business and IT services.
“Pivot is an excellent and most welcome addition to Galway’s expanding FDI network and IDA looks forward to supporting and working with the company as it establishes and grows its operations here.”
Positions available include information technology, software development, finance, international customer support, process innovation, project management, and marketing operations.
Christine Power, a Galway native and HR professional, has been appointed to lead the recruitment efforts for the centre. Pivot AC honours and rewards expertise, and the positions at the shared services centre are more than that – team members will be an integral part of the organisation, with potential for career growth.
