Apple geniuses, the employees who work behind the tech support station known as the Genius Bar in Apple retail stores, have inspired this week’s career memes.
While the memes poke fun at Apple geniuses (particularly the job title), many job-seekers covet the role, if the 10,000 or so people who applied for a job at a New York Apple store is any indication.
According to one former Apple genius, there are several steps in the process of hiring an Apple genius.
“Just like the rest of the hiring process for any position in Apple retail you will go through a TON of group and single interviews,” the former Apple genius told Business Insider.
“I had to participate in a hiring seminar, a group interview, and then single interviews with the lead genius, family room manager, store manager, and then the market leader. I also took a very comprehensive test to gauge my technical expertise which asked questions such as ‘Which of the following are wireless networking security standards? A. WEP 2. WPA2 3. LEAP 4. Radian’.”
