Cloud computing shows no signs of letting up. Gartner has forecast the public cloud services market to grow 18.5pc this year to reach US$131bn worldwide, up from US$111bn in 2012.
In November, Ireland’s Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton, TD, unveiled a new €5m Irish Centre for Cloud Computing and Commerce (IC4) at DCU.
The purpose of the new centre is to accelerate the development and adoption of cloud computing in Ireland.
With this growth comes jobs. Cloud computing can be a key component in the roles of systems analysts, network system administrators, network and data communication analysts, information systems security specialists, web developers, application software developers, application programmers, and database administrators.
