Career Zoo to focus on company culture as Etsy revealed as sponsor

18 Jan 2016

The Convention Centre Dublin will once more play host to Career Zoo, with global craft giants Etsy headline sponsoring the Saturday 20 February event.

Career Zoo, now in its sixth year – and holding its eleventh event – is Ireland’s leading recruitment and networking event for the tech, biopharma and financial services sectors.

With this spring’s Career Zoo placing significant focus on company culture, Etsy was a natural fit as sponsor, and Career Zoo’s director, Brian Ó hOisín, is excited to have them on board.

“Etsy is the kind of vibrant, edgy and creative employer that does so well at Career Zoo events. Top-quality candidates are drawn to working with companies that have a very defined and attractive culture, and that can certainly be said of Etsy,” said Ó hOisín.

Etsy, the global online marketplace where people connect to make, sell and buy unique goods, will be recruiting at Career Zoo for a number of roles, from engineering and finance to risk and legal.

Speaking about why candidates should be interested in meeting with Etsy at Career Zoo, Ó hOisín said: “Etsy’s mission is to ‘reimagine commerce in ways that build a more fulfilling and lasting world,’ and its focus on sustainability and a global creative community really makes it a unique employer”.

Tara Hayes, Etsy’s international HR director, added: “Etsy is a mindful, transparent and humane business. We focus on building for the long term and value craftsmanship in everything we do, as evidenced by our recently re-awarded B-Corp status.

“We also believe fun should be part of everything we do. Etsy is a unique place to work and we’re excited to be working with Career Zoo to find the brightest talent to help us achieve our mission.”

This February will see an expanded version of previous Career Zoo events. While popular features like the BioCluster, Tech Town and coding workshops will be returning, an entire extra floor of activities has been added to the roster, with more panel discussions, workshops, guest speakers and networking than ever.

The event’s focus on women in tech and finance 2.0 will be unchanged, but new areas of interest will include company culture, workplace trends and employee satisfaction.

Career Zoo’s smart badging system remains in place, making it easier to share your CV and contact details with employers on the day.

Registration for the Saturday 20 February event is now open.
