This weekend, more than 10,000 people attended the Career Zoo event at the Convention Centre in Dublin. We spoke to some of the major tech employers to get their views on what they’re looking for in ideal candidates.

Career Zoo is aimed at hiring qualified professionals and graduates for positions in Ireland, with more than100 Irish and international organisations offering jobs.

Since this morning, thousands of prospective candidates flooded into the Convention Centre Dublin for Career Zoo to meet potential employers.

The event has been sponsored by leading multinational companies IrishJobs.ie, Amazon Web Services, Murex and Pramerica, and other major exhibitors include Accenture, Aon, AOL, Boston Scientific, CarTrawler, Certus, Ericsson, Hays Recruitment, Indaver, Johnson & Johnson, Maxim Integrated, OpenHydro, Origina, SIG, Taxback.com, Unum and Workday.

What tech employers are looking for

We spoke to a number of the key employers hoping to meet and talk to skilled people from Ireland, across Europe and the rest of the world about the rich tapestry of opportunity that awaits them in Ireland.

We spoke to key individuals, including Brian Ó hOisín of CareerZoo, Laura Murphy of Murex, Ben Hurley from the NDRC, Alan Nuzum from Skillnets, Francis McGuire from Accenture, Aengus McClean from AOL, Colm Greaves of Maxim Integrated, Constantin Beier from Aon, Orla Moran from Irishjobs.ie, and Eucharia Meehan of the Irish Research Council.
