Next generation ultra broadband player Casa has located manufacturing and distribution operations in Limerick city, creating 50 new jobs over the next three years.
Casa said that it is also evaluating the potential for future R&D operations to be located at its new Limerick operation at the National Technology Park, with close proximity to the University of Limerick.
Casa makes next generation ultra broadband systems in terms of fixed, mobile and Wi-Fi systems.

The move will allow the company to support its continued growth internationally, bringing it closer to its European customers and acting as a base for non-US activity.

Initial operations will include manufacturing, distribution, customer technical support and related activities.
The company manufactures and markets devices to enable cable operators to fully utilise interactive digital video and broadband IP services over cable networks.
The company also develops edge solutions to address a variety of fixed and mobile converged solutions.

IDA CEO Martin Shanahan said that Casa’s expertise is at the forefront of broadband developments to meet the growing gigabit demands of today, and that the Limerick region has the skills it requires.
The news was also welcomed by Jobs Minister Mary Mitchell O’Connor, TD.
“This follows on from recent jobs announcements which show that there is a momentum growing for Jobs in regions around Ireland. Ireland’s growing expertise in the ICT sector and our commitment to ensuring that we can provide the requisite skills for companies like Casa Systems is clear for all to see,” the Minister said.
