On the back of a €7.5m investment in Cosmetic Creations, the new jobs will arise across quality, formulation development and supply chain.
Cosmetic manufacturing company Cosmetic Creations today (25 November) announced its plans to create 90 new jobs for Cork and Mayo.
The Cork positions will be based at the company’s new site in north Cork city, the former location of the Yves Rocher plant.
The announcement came following a €7.5m investment in the company, generating 60 jobs in operations, quality, formulation development and supply chain, while the remaining 30 positions will open at its head office in Mayo. The new hires will bring its Cork workforce on Dublin Hill to 100, while numbers at Mayo will increase to 80.
It was also announced that the Cosmetic Creations campus in Cork will be home to Californian biopharma company Parnell Pharmaceuticals after a newly agreed joint venture.
‘An indigenous company expanding nationally’
Cosmetic Creations is a manufacturer of skincare, personal care, self-tanning, supplements, medical device applications and base pharmaceutical line products. It has stated that, by 2022, it will create more than 15m products annually, shipping to more than 15 countries globally.
Officially opening the Cork site, An Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney, TD, said: “It’s fantastic to see an indigenous company expanding nationally. Manufacturing is hugely important to both the Cork and national economy, and I look forward to Cosmetics Creations’ continued success.”
Welcoming the announcement in Mayo, Michael Ring, TD, Minister for Rural and Community Development, said: “Cosmetic Creations has been a vital Mayo employer for 30 years, and I am delighted that they are continuing to expand and evolve. Their success is a testament to the opportunities for growth in Mayo and the surrounding region.”
The company’s owner and CEO referred to the newly opened Cork site as “the largest and most significant step” in its strategic growth plan. He also mentioned being “delighted to have been able to rehire over 30 of the former Yves Rocher employees” at the Cork site.
