US software company Diligent to hire 200 at new Galway hub

2 Nov 2020

Diligent Corporation’s new team in Galway will support nearly 50pc of its client base outside the US.

Diligent Corporation, a US business that specialises in corporate governance software, is establishing a new European hub in Galway.

The company plans to create more than 200 jobs in Galway across areas including customer support, customer success, finance, product, HR and marketing.

“With our new international office in Galway, Diligent is making a critical investment to accelerate our growth strategy and attract exceptional talent to our team,” said Brian Stafford, CEO of Diligent Corporation.

“The excellent talent available in the Galway community will support the nearly 50pc of our client base located outside of the US, enabling us to enhance the customer experience and achieve our long-term goals.”

New York-headquartered Diligent has created software to help company boards communicate and collaborate. Its tech is used by more than 19,000 organisations in more than 90 countries, and the company has been backed by Insight Partners, Clearlake Capital Group and Blackstone Group.

Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar, TD, described the new hub as “great news for Galway”.

Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland, added that it will be a welcome boost to the economy in the west of the country.

“It is a huge vote of confidence in Ireland and demonstrates our continued agile and adaptable business environment at a time of unprecedented global flux due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic,” Shanahan said.

“Ireland offers a safe and stable investment location with access to the EU market, an educated and skilled workforce and an attractive environment where people want to live and work.”

Speaking at Silicon Republic’s Future Human event last week, Shanahan reiterated that Ireland “will remain attractive” to companies despite global declines in foreign direct investment.

A number of jobs at Diligent’s new Galway base are already being advertised. More information on the vacancies can be found here.
