Dublin key to TripAdvisor’s future – Lars Holzman, TripAdvisor (video)

20 Feb 2014

We spoke to Lars Holzman, from TripAdvisor’s Dublin office, about what attracted the world’s largest travel site to set up in Dublin.

Holzman is TripAdvisor’s engineering site manager in Dublin and was at Career Zoo in the Convention Centre Dublin on 15 February to find Ireland’s top software engineers to join TripAdvisor’s new and only office not based in the United States.

As the largest travel website in the world with more than 2bn visitors each year, TripAdvisor is looking for fast-moving and efficient problem-solvers who want to see their own handywork appear visible to a worldwide audience.

TripAdvisor’s Dublin office is only relatively new, but Holzman already sees the beginnings of a great workplace.

“We picked Dublin as our first engineering hub outside the US and we’ve been successful in putting the core of our team together so the challenge is finding great guys, but we’re finding them.”
