Irish geo-database mapping firm eSpatial has created 12 new technology jobs so far this year and plans eight more as it pioneers the movement of geographical information systems (GIS) to the cloud.
“We’ve created 12 new jobs already this year,” says CEO Philip O’Doherty. “With eight additional new jobs planned to the end of 2011, and further growth forecast for 2012, we needed space to expand.”
The company is one of a number of growing Irish technology companies that have moved closer to Dublin’s city centre to attract talent.
O’Doherty says the move locates eSpatial alongside a number of SaaS (software-as-a-service) and other technology heavyweights.
Close working relationships with Oracle and Google
“We already enjoy excellent working relationships with leading technology companies like Oracle and Google, and work closely with Enterprise Ireland on a number of initiatives,” says O’Doherty.
“We look forward to continuing to work with them, and to building new business relationships with other companies at EastPoint.”
The company’s flagship product, eSpatial OnDemand GIS (formerly known as iSMART), has pioneered the availability of a full-function GIS or location intelligence tool with SaaS delivery.
