Facebook’s Dublin expansion may create about 300 jobs – reports

30 Apr 2013

A major expansion of Facebook’s European headquarters in Dublin may create about 300 jobs. The social networking giant has reached a €3.5m agreement to rent space in the Daniel Libeskind building in Grand Canal Square.

The agreement to rent the space that houses Facebook’s current Dublin offices and its 400 employees expires next year, the Irish Independent reported. That space is about half the size of the new space in the Libeskind building, which can accommodate at least 800 employees.

Facebook reached the agreement on the new real estate with Joe O’Reilly’s Chartered Land.

News of this growth is line with Facebook’s announcement from February, when the company revealed it was to create 100 new jobs in the Irish capital.

The expansion suggests another 300 jobs or more, the Irish Independent reported.

Facebook will likely generate more headlines tomorrow, when it releases its first-quarter financial results.
